ICIP Through the Years

In 1994, Alan Bovik and David Munson, with the strong support of the Image and Multidimensional Signal Processing Technical Committee, worked to establish a second major international conference series for SPS, in turn introducing ICIP. The desire to create another major annual conference for SPS was in response to the rapidly growing field of image processing and the goal to help focus the research. The first and subsequent ICIPs have been highly successful and have raised the Society’s profile in image and video processing.
